1. CLOSED-SOURCE SOFTWARE

Gizmu is proprietary, closed-source software. The emulator's proprietary
source code is private and is not publicly available. This license grants
no access to that source code and makes no promise to publish it. This is
not an open-source license.

The public repository contains the project website, documentation,
compatibility reports, screenshots and license information. Its public
visibility does not make the emulator's source code available.

2. SCOPE

This license applies to original material owned by mrpostiga in the
mrpostiga/gizmu repository and to Gizmu binaries expressly distributed
with this license. "Licensor" means mrpostiga, the project publisher at
https://github.com/mrpostiga/gizmu.

Third-party components and material are governed by Section 5. A release
package is governed by the license supplied with that package.

3. PERMITTED USE

Subject to these terms, you may download, install and run an unmodified
official Gizmu binary distributed under this license, free of charge, on
devices you own or control. You may make backup copies for your own use.
This permission is non-exclusive and does not transfer ownership.

You may read and retain the public documentation for your own use, link
to the official project and downloads, and publish your own reviews,
gameplay recordings and screenshots, subject to third-party rights.

4. RIGHTS RESERVED AND RESTRICTIONS

Except as expressly permitted by this license, applicable law, or a
separate written agreement from the Licensor, you may not:

- Copy or redistribute the proprietary software or public project
  materials beyond the uses permitted in Section 3.
- Modify, adapt, translate, rebrand or create derivative works of the
  proprietary software or present it as another emulator or project.
- Sell, rent, sublicense, bundle, mirror or otherwise distribute Gizmu.
  Share links to the official downloads instead.
- Remove copyright, attribution, license or other ownership notices, or
  claim authorship or ownership of the Licensor's work.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or attempt to obtain the
  proprietary source code, except where applicable law or a third-party
  license permits this notwithstanding the restriction.

No trademark rights or right to imply endorsement are granted. Nothing
here restricts rights that applicable law makes non-waivable, or rights
already granted by the hosting platform's terms to view and fork public
repository materials. Such platform rights do not grant access to the
private emulator source.

5. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS AND GAME MATERIAL

Libraries, fonts, instrument banks and other third-party components
retain their respective licenses and notices. Those licenses govern
those components and prevail over conflicting terms in this document.
This license does not remove rights or obligations arising from them,
including any applicable source-access or relinking rights. Consult the
notices accompanying the relevant release.

Game names, game artwork, ROMs and game content belong to their respective
rights holders. Their appearance in artwork or screenshots does not
transfer ownership or grant a license to the underlying games. You are
responsible for obtaining the necessary rights to the content you use.

6. NO WARRANTY

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the software and materials
are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind,
including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and
non-infringement. No guarantee of compatibility, uninterrupted operation,
support, updates or continued availability is made.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor is not liable
for damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the software or
materials, including loss of data or profits. Nothing in this license
excludes liability or statutory protections that cannot lawfully be
excluded or limited.

8. BREACH AND SEVERABILITY

If you breach these terms, the permissions granted by this license
terminate to the extent permitted by applicable law. You must stop uses
that depend on those permissions. Independently granted rights under
third-party licenses or applicable law remain unaffected.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to
apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.

9. EARLIER DISTRIBUTIONS AND SEPARATE PERMISSION

These terms apply only to material made available under this license.
They do not revoke permissions previously granted for copies distributed
under another license. Earlier copies retain the terms supplied with
them. A future revision does not retroactively replace the license of
an existing copy.

official project repository. No additional permission is implied by
silence, public availability or the absence of a technical restriction.
